CHC51015 – Diploma of Counselling

Diploma of Counselling

Are you working 20+ hours per week supporting clients with personal or psychological concerns using counselling techniques, but haven’t yet gained your Diploma of Counselling?

With Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), you can turn your existing skills and experience into a nationally recognised qualification through our partner RTOs—without the need for classroom study.

Certify your Skills and Advance Your Career in Mental Health

If you’re already supporting clients with personal and psychological issues using a range of counselling approaches, getting your skills recognised can take your career to the next level.

By completing the Diploma of Counselling through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), you can turn your existing experience into a nationally recognised qualification—without starting from scratch.

This qualification can open doors to roles as a Counsellor in established organisations and community services. These roles often come with greater responsibility and higher pay, as many employers prefer candidates with formal qualifications.

RPL is a process that assesses your existing skills, knowledge, and work experience to award you a nationally recognised qualification without needing to study from the beginning.

It’s a nationally recognised qualification that prepares you to work as a counsellor, supporting clients with personal, emotional, and psychological issues.

Yes, you should have relevant experience in counselling or supporting clients to be eligible for RPL.

You may need to provide a resume, references, case notes, reports, and any previous training or certifications related to counselling.

No, RPL is based on your existing experience, so there are usually no formal classes or exams required.
